Welcome to the Division of Politics & Economics

In the Division of Politics & Economics (DPE), we are strongly committed to quality graduate education, faculty-student collaboration, and innovative research that addresses real world problems. We offer a graduate-only academic environment in which students receive personalized mentorship and work closely with internationally renowned scholars on research projects. We also believe that it is frequently beneficial to cross conventional disciplinary boundaries and engage in transdisciplinary scholarship.

Our curriculum has a strong foundation in theory and methodology, but is designed to encourage students to focus on applying the theoretical and empirical skills that they acquire with a view to improving economic and social welfare. Our core offerings in Economic Sciences, International Studies, and Politics & Government are highly customizable, resulting in unique programming. We offer dual-degree programs within DPE departments and across CGU divisions. These programs allow students to expand their scholarship in ways that other educational institutions may not.

Our success at training our students has propelled graduates into successful careers in government agencies, international institutions, and the private sector. It has also allowed them to pursue academic careers in well-respected universities across the world.
